Hi you!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I really appreciate it! I made this colorful card and it is giving me all the Spring vibes. I absolutely love all the colors and hope it gives you some inspiration (and a smile on your face).

You can find a full supply list here. Everything is available at Cloud9 Crafts store!

I started with all the die cutting. I did the Flower Garden Backdrop with the new Algae cardstock. I ink blended some Mowed Lawn over it as well, just to give it a little bit more variation in color. You can skip this step if you want.

For the flowers on that backdrop, I used Ballet Slippers, Tide Pool (also new!) and Sticky Note. I also added a bit of ink with Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon and Mustard Seed. I adhered the flowers on the flower backdrop with a little bit of Liquid Glue.

For the flower in the center of the card, I used the Happy Potted Flower. Isn’t he just adorable? I love it so much! Lawn Fawn has a few of these paper piecing dies and I adore this style! I die cut the base and the ‘outline’ of the flower out of Black Licorice cardstock. Then I die cut all the little pieces from the flower out of the same cardstock colors as before: Algae, Tide Pool and Ballet Slippers cardstock. The only thing I added here was Fake Tan for that little terracotta pot. Since I ink blended all the previous die cuts, I did the same for these. Again, using the same colors (Mermaid Lagoon, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry + Candied Apple for the pot). I put everything inside the outline frame of the flower with liquid glue. I like fiddling with these little die cuts. It’s like a little puzzle!

For my background, I went with the beautiful gradient paper in the Rainbow Ever After paper pad. This paper pad is my new favorite. For sure! I trimmed it to 4,25 by 5,5 inches and adhered my flower garden frame on top with foam strips. This gives it a bit of a shadow box feel. I also die cut a white Stitched Rectangle frame and put that on top. It kind of finishes off the card more.

Then I made time for my sentiment. I chose the ‘just saying hello’ out of the Simply Sentiments stamp set. I wanted to go for the ‘you are so awesome’ first, but it was a little bit too long for my liking. I stamped the sentiment with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink on Tide Pool cardstock. Using all the same colors really helps in making the card look more cohesive. I put it down on the bottom of my card panel with foam squares. After that I adhered my Happy Flower as well (with foam squares for all the dimension!).

I wanted to stop here, but thought there was something missing. So I stamped a few little bees from the Hive Five set with Jet Black ink onto Transotype Perfect Coloring paper. I quickly colored them with my Copic Markers (Y15 – Y13 – Y11 / BG000 – 0). I die cut them with the coordinating dies and adhered them around the flower with liquid glue.

Then my card was all finished. I am in love with it. I think I will give it to a colleague of mine. They all deserve some handmade love!

Thanks again for stopping by! Have a great day! Bye!

Love, Jarle x
