Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since I did a blog post, so I thought I’d share with you how I made this pretty friendship card with lots of rainbow colors!

You can find all the supplies here.

I started by die cutting a rectangle piece of Bristol Smooth paper with the Stitched Rectangles from Lawn Fawn. I did my foiling with my Glimmer Machine first. I heated my platform, put my Cloud Background Hot Foil Plate on top and waited til the platform was ready. Then I put my foil on top (pretty side down) and my Bristol paper. I topped it off with the 2 plates that are included in the Glimmer Machine. I pressed the timer button and when that button stopped blinking, I ran the sandwich through my die cutting machine. The foiling was perfect!

I did my blending on top with Oxide inks in the colors Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade and Salvaged Patina. If I were to do this again, I would first do the ink blending and then the foiling. The blending took a bit of the shine away, even though I removed a bit of the ink with a microfiber cloth.

Then I repeated the same process with the foiled sentiment (which was the Sending Rainbows from Lawn Fawn). I did use rainbow foil this time. You can’t see it in all of the pictures, but that rainbow sentiment is SO beautiful. I love that the color shifts when you tilt it to the light. I die cut the sentiment with an Outside In Stitched Circle (Lawn Fawn again) and blended the edges a bit with Squeezed Lemonade. I popped the sentiment up in the middle of the cloud background panel with a bit of foam tape.

This was kinda plane, so I added a few other accents with stamped images. I stamped 2 clouds from the All The Clouds stamp set and a few paper planes from the Just Plane Awesome set (all Lawn Fawn). I did this with Jet Black ink, because I did some copic coloring. I used the colors:

  • BG000 – BG0000
  • RV25 – RV13 – RV10
  • BG13 – BG11 – BG10
  • Y17 – Y15 – Y13

I die cut the images with my mini Heffy Doodle die cutting machine and the coordinating dies. I popped those up as well after arranging them around the main sentiment of the card.

I took that whole background panel and adhered it onto an A2 sized cardbase and this finished off my card. It’s so simple, but yet so colorful and beautiful. I really hope this makes someone’s day!

Love, Jarle x
