Hi crafty friends!

Today I’m featuring the lovely Deer To Me stamp set from Heffy Doodle. I think this is my favorite Heffy Doodle stamp set!

As always, I start with stamping my images from the Deer To Me set onto alcohol marker friendly cardstock, using my Misti stamping tool and Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. After letting the ink dry for about 5 minutes, I started coloring my images. I didn’t need that many colors. I listed them below for you:

  • E79 – E37 – E35 – E33 – E31
  • E00 – E000 – E0000
  • R22 – R00

When the coloring was done, I die cut every image with the mini die cutting machine and the coordinating dies. I also added a few details with my white gel pen.

For my background, I die cut a stitched rectangle out of Bristol Smooth cardstock. If you ever have trouble inkblending, you should definitely try Bristol Smooth. It blends like butter!

I used Distress Oxides for my sky in the colors Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves and Villainous Potion. To add some extra interest, I splattered on white gouache and Villainous Potion.

I die cut 2 borders to ground my images. You can use the Slopey Joes dies for this. I added a bit of Picked Raspberry on the edges of these hills.

I die cut the Tree-mendous Peekaboo Tree die out of light brown woodgrain cardstock. To make it stand out more, I added some Distress ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I also added paint splatters with white gouache and Walnut Stain.

Time to assemble the card! I glued down the hills and the tree with liquid glue. I didn’t use the whole tree on the card panel and trimmed down the excess with my scissors. Then I put down my images with foam squares and liquid glue to add dimension. The images in front are put down with foam squares. For the ones in the back, I used liquid glue.

For the sentiment, I stamped it down with Versamark ink on black cardstock. I sprinkled on some white embossing powder and heat set it with my heat gun. Then I trimmed it down and put it on my panel, using some foam squares again.

I hope this card gave you a little bit of inspiration. Now let’s get crafty! I’ll be back here soon.

Love, Jarle x
