Hi you!
I wanted to make my first (card) blogpost about an interactive card. So I made one using the flip slider die from Mama Elephant.

I started by blending my front panel (Neenah 80lB paper ) with Distress Oxides in the colors tattered rose and worn lipstick. I used a bit of water with perfect pearls powder to splatter on my blended card. This gives it the oxidized effect with a little bit of shine.
When that panel was dry (I let it dry overnight) I used the Mama Elephant Birthday Wishes stamp set to stamp my sentiment. I used Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed it in white.
The cats (Mama Elephant – Little Cat Agenda) were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto some scrap pieces of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. I watercolored them with my Zigs and a brush from Royal and Langnickel nr 4. The colors I used are listed below:
- Cats: 2 cats dark gray and 2 cats gray brown
- Letter: warm gray
- Balloon and heart: deep red
- Gift: cornflour blue
I diecut the flip slider mechanism and the little panels with the Mama Elephant Flip Slider die. I used Neenah paper for that. Again, I blended Worn Lipstick on the mechanism itself and used Tattered Rose for the panels. You can use regular colored cardstock for this, but I really wanted the same colors as my large frontpanel.
After that, the assembling of the card could begin. I adhered the cats to the panels and used some scotch tape to adhere the panels onto the flip slider mechanism. When I was sure the mechanism worked, I adhered the waterfall onto my front panel.

Since I didn’t want to add too much bulk on the card, I just used tape runner to adhere my panel onto the cardbase. Finished!
I hope I gave you some inspiration to make someone’s heart happy with a handmade card.
Love, x
