Hi friends!
Thank you so much for joining me on my blog today. I created this card for the current challenge at Cloud9 Crafts: Summer Fiesta. Go to Instagram to see how you can enter your project and get a chance to win a gift voucher!
For your convenience, you can find a full visual supply list of my card here.

I started by die cutting a few things from the Magic Iris Tropical Leaves Add-On. I used the main die cut (the Tropical Leaves Circle), a few flowers and leaves. I did this out of the Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper pad from Lawn Fawn.
Of course I wanted to add a little bit of ink on the die cuts. I did this with my Pinkfresh blending tools, which are GREAT for inking up small die cuts. For the flowers I used the 1/4 tool and for that big circle, I used the 1/2 tool.
The colors I used are Distress colors: Festive Berries and Mustard Seed. For the greenery I did use Rainforest ink from Lawn Fawn. I like that ink a lot for giving some shadow to greenery. This color also works beautiful with Cilantro cardstock from Lawn Fawn.
I did splatter on some Copic white on the different die cuts. Don’t know if I would do it again though for this card. I think it would look beautiful without the splatters as well.
For my sentiment, I die cut another Tropical Leaves Add-On, but now I did this out of Sticky Note cardstock from Lawn Fawn. I inked up the edges with Mustard Seed (I used this for the flowers before as well). After that I stamped the ‘Hello Sunshine’ sentiment with Versamark ink. That sentiment comes from the Magic Messages stamp set (from Lawn Fawn).

I did debate quite a lot about the background. Actually I first inked up a whole piece with Distress Oxides, but it didn’t feel quite right. I used Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch but it wasn’t giving me Summer vibes. So I set that panel aside for another card.
So I eventually just went with a piece of patterned paper from the Pint Sized Summer Patterns paper pad. I really like that yellow paper with those little suns. Super cute. I trimmed it down to A2 size (4,25 by 5,5 inches) and adhered it to a white card base.
Then I glued down the tropical leaves circle, directly to the paper. The yellow circle with the sentiment was popped up with foam squares. Then I placed the flowers on there as well, I did an uneven number (so 3 flowers and 2 flowers). Apparently it is more pleasing to the eye when you use an uneven number.
I also added a few extra leaves here and there to fill the circle just a little bit more. And I did put 2 leaves and a cute little flower on the bottom right corner as well.

Super simple to make, but I really love adding ink to die cuts. It just adds that little extra something and inking up all the things is absolutely my favorite card making technique!
