Hi friends!
I made my first card with the new Lawn Fawn Fall/Winter 2024 release! Yaaay! I always love Halloween themed products, although we don’t really celebrate it here in Belgium. That’s why I decided to make it a birthday card. A fun way to get to use all the Halloween supplies!
You can find a full supply list here: https://cloud9crafts.nl/collections/cloud9-crafts-dt-inspiration-Birthday-Card-feat-Lawn-Fawn-Build-A-Cauldron
(Cloud9 Crafts store has a very large Lawn Fawn collection. The whole new release is available there!)

I started with a large stitched rectangle and die cut it out of Bristol Smooth cardstock. I placed one of the Spiderweb Background stencils on top and ink blended Distress Oxides in the colors Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Villainous Potion. I went back and forth a few times to get a smooth blend. I also splattered on a bit of black watercolor and Perfect Pearls solution for added interest.
PS: You do have to remove the stencil when the spiderweb is inked on your card panel or else you’ll get that edge of the stencil on your panel and you don’t want that. 🙂 So just do your web in one of those colors, remove the stencil and continue with all the ink blending!

While I set my panel aside to dry, I die cut all the different pieces from the Build A Cauldron die set. I used Black Licorice, Sticky Note, Cilantro, Ballet Slippers, Fake Tan and Mermaid cardstock for this. I did add a bit of regular distress ink on a few of those die cuts. I used Picked Raspberry, Mermaid Lagoon and Lucky Clover. I really think adding a bit of extra ink makes the die cuts stand out more. Also… It’s just super fun to do.
After that, I stamped a few spiders from the Sweet Spiders set and its Add-On onto Transotype Perfect Coloring paper. I used Jet Black ink, which is perfect for Copic Coloring. To color in the spiders, I used BV29, BV25 and BV23. I really like that color because it’s not that typical ‘black’. Of course I die cut the images with the coordinating dies.

For my sentiment, I prepped my Black Licorice cardstock with an antistatic powder tool from Taylored Expressions. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and sprinkled on my white embossing powder. I heat set it with my heat tool and trimmed it to the correct size. The sentiment is included in the Sweet Spiders Add-On set. That set has some great sentiments in addition the the sentiments on the main Sweet Spiders set. Also, it has an extra spider, which I needed 😀
I assembled all the little pieces and arranged everything on my card panel. Some images were popped up with foam squares and a few with liquid glue. This creates that feeling of dimension on the card, which I love so much.
I adhered my whole card panel on my card base and that finished off the card. I loved all the die cutting and the arrangement of all the little pieces. I also realized… We need more Lawn Fawn spiders. I think they are so cute!

I hope this post was helpful to you. I will be back soon with another project! Happy crafting!
Love, Jarle x
