Hi sweet friends!
I am back with a sweet Christmas card, using a few of the newest Lawn Fawn Release. You can shop all the items at Cloud9 Crafts. I have a full supply list here.

I started by die cutting the Spooky Forest backdrop out of white Woodgrain cardstock from Lawn Fawn. I use this cardstock a lot and just realized I only have one sheet left. Time to stock up I guess!
For my ink blended background, I blended on Distress Oxides in the colors Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Vilainous Potion. I didn’t know this purple color would be great for winter skies as well! Love it so much!
I placed the Starry Sky stencil on top of the blended panel and secured it with magnets (using my Wendy Vecchi Make Art station). I smeared on some Fairy Dust paste on top of the stencil. I really like the subtle look of it.
By the way: Never forget to clean your stencil right away!

Then I stamped the adorable bat from the Batty For You stamp set on Transotype Perfect Coloring paper, using Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I also stamped a little Santa hat from the Yeti or Not stamp set.
The Halloween themed Batty For You is actually perfect for all kind of occasions, even Christmas. Just add a Santa hat or a Christmas tree or something and you have everything for a cute Christmas card. I also really like the sentiment that says ‘you old bat’. So I NEED to make a birthday card using that sentiment ASAP! 😀
Here are the Copic combinations I used to color the images:
- Bat: C7 – C5 – C3 – C1 /R30 – R20 – R00
- Santa Hat: R39 – R29 – R27 – R24
Of course I die cut everything with the coordinating dies. I am so terrible at fussy cutting images. I also die cut 3 little bats out of the Shadow Box Halloween Add-On, just to add a few things extra to the scene. Momma bat needs some friends!
Time to assemble everything! I placed the Spooky Forest backdrop on top of the ink blended panel with lots of foam squares. The bat was positioned with foam squares as well. The little bats were adhered with liquid glue.

My card does need a sentiment. So I stamped a Merry Christmas sentiment with Versamark ink onto some Barn Red cardstock from Lawn Fawn. I sprinkled on gold embossing powder and heat set it with my heat gun. I did prep the cardstock with my antistatic powder tool. Don’t forget that if you want to get great embossing results!
With my trusted Everyday Sentiment Banners, I die cut my sentiment. I adhered it onto my card panel with foamsquares.
After placing my card panel on a white folded cardbase, this card was all finished. Super simple, but super adorable, isn’t it?

I think I’ll go work on that birthday card with the ‘old bat’ sentiment now, right?!
Love, Jarle xx
