Hi crafty friends!

I have a new card for Cloud9 Crafts store that I want to share with you today. It features the brand new Just Plane Awesome stamp set from Lawn Fawn.

Yes… The mice are at it again. This time they are using their paper planes to deliver lots of cheese to their friends. Aren’t these mice the cutest?! I love combining all the mice stamp sets to create a beautiful scene.

You can find a full supply list here.

Let’s see how this card came together!

I started by die cutting the largest rectangle out of the Scalloped Slimline with Hearts die set. I masked off the small edges with purple tape so I could start my ink blending. I used Distress Oxides in the colors Salvaged Patina, Squeezed Lemonade and Worn Lipstick. These created the most beautiful rainbow sky. I splattered on a bit of water and blotted it off with a paper towel. Then I splattered on some Copic White for added interest.

Then I trimmed Cilantro paper to 8cm wide. I die cut 3 pieces with a variety of grassy borders. I added a bit of Rainforest ink and splattered the Copic ink here as well. Cilantro cardstock, combined with Rainforest ink gives my grass just the perfect color.

I let my blended panels dry a bit and went on to stamping all my images with Jet Black ink on Transotype Perfect Coloring paper. I used lots of different stamp sets:

  • Just Plane Awesome
  • Bubbles of Joy
  • You Autumn Know
  • Sew Very Mice
  • Crazy Antics (for the cheese)

I let it dry for about 5 minutes before moving on to coloring. These are the Copic Combinations I used:

  • Mice:
    • E43 – E41 – E40
    • E34 – E31 – E30
    • R00 – R000
    • Scarves: BG15 – BG13 – BG11
  • Cheese: Y15 – Y13 – Y11
  • Paper Planes: B000 – B0000

I die cut everything with the coordinating dies, using my Heffy Doodle Mini Die Cutting Machine. I also added a few gel pen details with my white gel pen.

Time to work on the sentiment. I chose the ‘May all your wishes come true’ from the Birthday Before ‘n Afters. I thought it worked perfectly with this scene. You know… As a mouse’s wish would probably be to eat lots and lots of cheese 😀 I inked up my sentiment with Versamark ink, sprinkled on white embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool.

When my blended panels were dry, I started by adhering my grassy borders on the slimline panel. Then I debated a bit on where I wanted all my images. When I was happy with the placement, I glued down everything. I combined foam squares with liquid glue. This created lots of dimension on the card.

I took a card base that measured 7 by 8,5 and I folded it at 3,5 inches. I adhered my card panel on top. This finished my card. I am happy with how it turned out and I hope it gave you a little bit of inspiration.

Thank you SO much for spending the time with me. I will be back soon. Have a great day. Bye!

Love, Jarle x
