Hi everyone!

I am super excited today! I get to co-host the Waffle Flower challenge, together with Liane Hodges and Galina from Waffle Flower!

The theme is: Unexpected Shaker Elements!

It was a challenge to come up with something 🙂 I normally use regular sequin mixes in my shaker, so I didn’t know exactly how to spice it up a bit.

But… I thought of the Nuvo Gilding Flakes that I had in my stash. This could work! So I tried it and it turned out great 🙂

I took a rectangle piece of black cardstock and die cut the beautiful Flying Butterflies die from Waffle Flower out. I did the same with some white cardstock.

I placed a piece of acetate on the back of the butterflies window with some strong scor-tape. Then, I placed some foam tape all around the butterfly frame (of course also on the backside of my panel). I doubled the foam tape so I could get enough space for my flakes.

Then I took out my container of flakes and sprinkled some in that ‘well’ I created with the foam tape. When I was happy with the amount of flakes, I placed another piece of black cardstock on top.

I adhered the white frame of the butterflies that I cut out of the white cardstock on the front of that shaker. This made the butterflies pop on the black cardstock.

I white heat embossed a sentiment to finish the card. I think it turned out great. I made it into a sympathy card because I thought the look was simple yet elegant… The perfect look for sympathy cards.

I really hope you give this challenge a try! It’s always fun to step out of your comfort zone!

Have a great day!

Love, Jarle x
