Hi you!
I have a card to share that involves LOTS of die cutting 🙂
The die cutting was very time consuming, but the effect that it has on your card is just awesome. So please, try it out. You won’t regret it!
I also have a video on how I made this card. Feel free to check it out. If you like it, please consider subscribing to my channel 🙂
I started my card by die cutting everything. I used different colors and sorts of cardstock. I will list down everything below.
For the daisies:
- Lawn Fawn Black Licorice
- Lawn Fawn Cilantro
- Lawn Fawn Textured Dots Tropical (yellow)
- Neenah 80lb
For the mushroom house:
- Lawn Fawn Chili Pepper
- Lawn Fawn Vanilla Malt
- Lawn Fawn Sunflower
- Lawn Fawn Black Licorice
For the mushrooms:
- Lawn Fawn Black Licorice
- Lawn Fawn Vanilla Malt
- Lawn Fawn Chili Pepper
I decided to give a add a bit more definition to the colors by ink blending mowed lawn, antique linen and candied apple on a few die cuts.
For my card panel I used the Large Slimline dies from Lawn Fawn. I cut these out twice, since I was gonna need a second panel for my grassy border. I wanted the stitched detail to continue on that border.
I ink blended my sky using Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch. I splattered on some Lawn Fawn shimmer and a bit of pink and blue with my Oxides, deluted with water.
My grassy border was ink blended with the colors Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. Again, I splattered on some of that darker green to add a bit of interest.
I started assembling every die cut: so the daisies, the mushrooms and the large mushroom house. I figured out the placement of the die cuts before deciding which stamps I wanted to add. I eventually went with some images from the sets: Oh Gnome, Gleeful Gardens and All The Clouds. I stamped them with MFT black ink and colored them with my Copics.
I used these combos:
- R24 – R22 – R20
- BV04 – BV02 – BV00
- E37 – E15 – 13
- YR 14 – YR12
- E11 – E00 – E000
- C1 – C00 – colorless blender
- E44 – E43 – E41
- B21 – B00 – B000
I cut out the images using the coordinating dies.
Now it was time to assemble my whole card. I started by glueing down everything that had to go behind the grass. After I adhered the grass, I first glued down all the remaining die cuts. After that, I went on with my gnomes etc. Most of the stamped images were adhered with some foam squares for some added dimension.
To finish off the card, I put some shimmer on the gnome’s hats and I stamped an image inside of the card base. I then adhered my panel to my base and the card was ready. I really like how it turned out.
Have a wonderful day! Don’ forget to make someone smile today.
Love, Jarle x
