Hi you!

I am absolutely no expert in watercoloring, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it 😉

Therefore, I wanted to practice my watercoloring skills using the Concord&9th – Hello lovely stamp set.

I white embossed this large flower on Strathmore Watercolor Paper, after treating my paper with an antistatic powder tool. I used Ranger – White embossing powder. My paper was slightly larger than an A2 sized card, since I taped it to the board to prevent it from warping when using water over it.

I used my Altenew watercolor set to paint the images. These are the colors I used:

  • big flower: purple wine
  • red flowers: crimson
  • large leaves: forest glades
  • medium leaves: frayed leaf
  • small leaves: evergreen

When I finished, I splattered some midnight violet over the entire painting to give it a finishing touch.

For the painting, I worked in layers and gradually darkened up the colors on the image.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set onto a vellum piece of paper, using Wow – Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder. I adhered that strip to the back of my card so no glue is visible.

Attached everything to a card base and my card was finished! I kinda like the way it turned out. Hope you do too 🙂

I hope I gave you some inspiration to make someone’s heart happy.

Love, Jarle x
